Hero’s Journey Children of Men
Ordinary World: London Theo has a normal life doing his job at the office.
Call To Adventure: Theo’s ex wife asks him to get her some travel papers.
Refusal of the Call: Theo says no
Meeting of the mentor: Jasper Theo’s friend convinces him to help his ex wife.
Crossing the threshold: Theo gets the travel papers but he has to travel with the person because they are joint travel papers.
Tests: The group are pulled over on their way to traveling and Theo’s ex wife is killed and the police are after them. So they hide out at a friends farm.
Approach: Theo finds out that the girl he is traveling with is the first person to be pregnant in years. Then he finds out that the people they are staying with at the farm are bad and are the ones who killed his ex wife.
The Ordeal: Theo runs away with the girl from the farm and escapes to a prison camp where they are planning on going.
Reward: The girls baby is born and it is the first baby in years.
Road Back: They then journey to find the ship that will rescue them.
Resurrection: There is a conflict between the army in the town and the men who are chasing Theo. When they see the baby they barely escape with their lives.
Elixir: Theo gets the girl and her baby to the ship but then dies because he was shot in the battle earlier. But his sacrifice was worth it because he saved the future of mankind.
